CHRISTIAN ATHLETES.

OXFORD GROUP MEETING. A startling presentation of an athletic Christianity as the only remedy for the world situation was defined at Monday’s meeting of the Oxford Group in Palmerston North. Mr H. Wollerman, who led the meeting, drew from .a team of men and women a convincing statement of what was actually happening in New Zealand in homes, businesses and farms under God’s control. Rev. M. Hodder, in concluding the meeting, stated that “Nero fiddled while Rome burned.” The speaker had been reading novels and playing games while the world was in an inflammable condition and rapidly becoming more inflammable, and bad now realised the position. He also pointed out that the smooth running of the house party was the result of Christian athletes working as a team under stiff discipline. Had any of those at the meeting been in the Square at 0.-I ■ > .a.m. they would have seen a. number ot young men hurrying to their office to receive God’s guidance for the day. Enlisting in God’s army meant getting up early on cold mornings. The production of spiritual athletes to meet the present situation in tlie world demanded spiritual and physical fitness of a very high order. At the conclusion of the meeting a number of people staked their decision to enlist in this new army, which is bringing about a new world order. (
