MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. SEATS FOR SPRINGBOKS MATCH. The weekly meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union was held la6t evening. Those present were Messrs A. M. OUgley (chairman), K. W. Eglinton, J. A. Colqulioun, L. J. Plank, H. R. Crawford. J. R. Hardie, A. Gordon, H. .T. Hickey, |G. Peters, L. G. Berry, AY. Gleeson and W. Carruthers. Apologies tor absence were received from Messrs J. AV. Smith, and P. O. Slcoglund. The Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union advised acceptance of a proposal to .alter the date of the inter-union from July 131 to July 24. —Received. The Horowhenua Rugby Union enquired if they were to be allocated a. block of seats for the Alauawatu v. South Africa game. Messrs Hardie. Eglinton and the secretary (Mr J. AVliito) were appointed a committee to go into the matter 'and bring forward recommendations as to the allocations to be mn.de to neighbouring unions and the reservation of seats generally. The ICiwitea County Council wrote accepting seats for members of the council at the AVairarap.a-Manawa.tu mntch at Feilding on August 7. —Received. The Massey College Club requested permission to play a match against a Wanganui Collegiate School team at the college on July 7. —Granted. The New Zealand Rugby Union enquired what entertainment was to be offered the members of the South African team when they are in Palmerston North. —It was decided to write to the parent bodv asking at what time the team would nrrive in Palmerston North and at what time they would deThe New Zealand Union advised that all matches with the South African side were to start at 2-15 p.m., and interprovincial contests at 2.30 p.m. Received. The Kin Toa Club advised that a dance would be held on the night oj the match against the Springboks, and it was suggested that this be kept in mind when the entertainment of the visitors was being arranged.—lt was decided to accept the invitation, subject to the reply from the New Zealand Union being in keeping with the proposal. The Palmerston North Garrison Band advised that they would take part in the big Rugby parade on August 28. The City Silver Band forwarded a similar notification. —Received. The United Club advised that it was their intention to entertain the members of the team winning the senior competition at a dance in August. It was requested that all championship trophies be presented at the dance. — It was decided that the trophies for the championships bo presented at the gathering. , , . The Kia Toa Club asked that their fourth and fifth grade teams play on the same grounds,, as the lower grade players could then take part in the fourth grade matches, if required. It was decided to give effect to the request as far as possible. The lvia Toa Club also requested that when at Feilding or AVoodvdle their lower grade teams be not required to play before 2.45 p.m. It was decided to fall in with the suggestion. Tlio "chairman reported that, in regard to the proposal for the St. Patrick’s (Silverstream) College and the Palmerston North Boys’ High Schoo teams to play a match, both the school authorities had consented to play, but difficulty had been experienced insecuring a date which would be suitable to both. The chairman suggested August 7 as the date —the day on which the AYairarapa-Manawatu match is to be played at Feilding. Mr Colquhoun said lie would enquire if the date would suit the Palmerston North High School, and the chairman is to make enquiries of the -Silverstream College authorities. It. was decided to grant a regrading of E. Mnnderson (Kia Toa) from junior to third grade.

Feilding Old Boys, No. 2 Johnston Park, at 2.45 p.m. (Mr C. Elide); Old Boys v. .Tackeytown, Jaekeytown ground, at 2 p.m. (Mr P. AVaugh). Third grade.—Feilding v. Feilding Old Boys, No. 1 Johnston Park, at 1.15 p.m. (Mr F. Thomas); Kia Toa v. Old Boys, No. 3 Showgrounds, at 1.15 p.m. (Air C. AVoodham); United v. Palmerston North High School. No 2 Rugby Park, at 2.45 p.m. (Air J. Baker); - St. Patrick’s v. Feilding High School. No. 3 Showgrounds, at 2.40 p.m. (Air R. AA T eston). Fourth grade.—Palmerston North High School v.
