GOOD FIELDS ENTERED. (By “Spectator.”) With a total of 81 acceptors, there is every assurance of good holds for the Manawatu winter meeting on Saturday, interost being added by the presence of a number of well-performed Auckland horses en route to Trenthum. 'iliese ineludo Gay Rebel, Thunvind, Valpai, Lucidus and lllurninagh. Taranaki stables ure represented by strong teams, including a number of horses which are shortly to cross the Tasman to do their spring racing in Australia. Tho biggest field has been drawn by the Milson l-lack Handicap, of six furlongs, in which there aru 15 runners, including Airing, Flying Chief, and Te llu : a. Horses to contest the Atvupuni Steeplechase include Forest Glow, Lucidus, Riotous, Uiumlnagh, and Brigadore. Additional ruling engagements announced are It. W. Savage for Te Huia and W. Hoyle for Ilona Bay.
