Received June 30, 11.55 a.m. RUGBY, June 29. Sir Thomas Inskip (Minister for Coordination of Defence), addressing a gathering of more than one thousand business men in the City of London, made an important reference to the progress with Britain’s rearmament programme Jnd the Government’s proposals in the caso of a national emergency. Dealing with the steps taken, he declared: “The navy’s readiness for its task is much greater than it was twelve months ago. Britain’s cruisers and destroyers, having regard to the treaty limits, will provide the highest standard in power and efficiency possible today.” the Minister added: “Nothing we propose is intended tor aggression. It is all for delence.”
