ARCHBISHOP’S REMARKS. Received June 29, 12.35 p.m. LONDON, June 28. “Clergymen who read the words of the Bible in a monotonous sing-song voice without appreciation of their supreme human pathos” were criticised at the Diocesan Conference by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who begged that the reading of the Scriptures receive more attention.
