WEDDINGS.

BROWN—NIXON,

The Cuba Street Methodist Church, Palmerston North, was the scene ot a very charming afternoon wedding on June 16. The bride was Miss Lily Nixon, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Airs W. ii. Nixon, Milson’s Line, and the bridegroom Peter Douglas Brown, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs Brown, or Wanganui and the West Coast. Rev. A. Blakemore way the officiating minister, while Mr L. Drake presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Sir W. Nixon, of Woodville, wore a charming gown of ivory satin pearl cut on classical lines. The co re age was smocked, having a V neckline and plaited ivory satin round the neck, and being finished with plaited rosettes and orange blossom in front. Long tight sleeves were pointed over the wrist and trimmed with small satin buttons. A necklet of pearls, and satin shoes, were worn. She wore a handsome veil over a coronet of orange blossom buds and lilies and carried a bouquet of freesias, roses, hyacinths, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern, which completed a dainty toilette. The bride was attended by the bridegroom's sister, Mrs Claude Rogers, of Wellington, as matron of honour. She wore a simple gown of flame cloque, with ha.t and shoes to match, and carried a beautifully matched bouquet. Mr Ray Cox, of' Wanganui, nephew of the bridegroom, acted as best man. During the signing of the register Miss Mary Foster, of Rongotea, sang a solo. A reception was held at the Royalo Dutch t-'Y’rooms, where nearly 100 guests from far a.nd near gathered to wish the happy couple happiness, health and prosperity. The guests were received by Miss Annie Nixon, sister of the bride, and Mrs A. Cox, of Wanganui, sister of the bridegroom, the former wearing navy satin and over it a snnart navv coat and hat and shoes to match, and the latter a navy and white ensemble, with. hat. and 6hoes to match. Both wore shoulder sprays. The bride and bridegroom left for a motor tour of Hawke's Bay amid .bowers of confetti .and good wishes from the numerous guests assembled to bid them farewell. The bride travelled in a smart navy tailored costume, and white crene-de-chin° blouse with navv hat handbag .and shoes to match. Mr and Mrs P. D. Brown were the recipients of many beautiful presents. I henfuture home will be on Milsou s Line, Palmerston North.
