Mrs J. Coupe lias returned to Stratford from Palmerston North.

Mrs S. E. Carson, of Eltham, has been spending a few days in Palmerston North.

Miss Elsie Macmillan, who ha 6 been visiting Auckland, will return to Palmerston North on Thursday night. Mr and Mrs E. J. Itixon, of Nikau Street, returned to-day from a holiday in Australia. 'the Palmerston North Townswomen’s Guild yesterday expressed sympathy with Mesdames J. Sweeney, 1. Norris, and W. Mouldey, in their illnesses. Mr and Mrs S. E. Burgess, of New Plymouth, spent the week-end with Miami Mrs Cordon Bagnall, of Batt Street.

A motion of sympathy with Mrs J. H. Nash, Mrs T. Edwards, Mrs E. Hepburn, and Mrs Wilson, in their recent bereavements, was passed by the Townswomen’s Guild, yesterday. Mrs A. Hopwood, who leaves shortly on a trip to Japan, ivas wished “bon voyage’’ by the Palmerston North Townswomen’s Guild yesterday. Mrs E. V. West, of Palmerston North, is spending a week in Auckland, having arrived there by the inaugural air service on Sunday, accompanied by her sister, of Wellington.

Mrs W. Templeton, who is leaving Palmerston North with Mr Templeton in August to take up her residence in Greymouth, wa.s farewelled by the Palmerston North Townswomen’s Guild, yesterday. Mr and Mrs Templeton intend making a holiday trip round the South Island before proceeding to Greym uth.
