Aiauawutu (who won a double at the meeting last year), Tudor and Forest Glow are entered for the Grand National Steeplechase, while Lady Ilia, who has not raced since her first and second in the open sprints at the Egrnont meeting, Catalogue and Old Surrey claim engagements in the Winter Cup on the first day. Tudor is to essay the big double, having also been nominated for the Grand National Hurdles on the second day and. with Alanawatu, Forest Glow and Tangled, is engaged in both the Beaufort and Lincoln Steeplechases. True Shall is an entrant for the Sydenham Hurdles. Thrpe On End.

Gay Rebel, whose win on the final day of the Great Northern meeting put him out of the hack ela-s, although of course he can run out his nominations, and who i.s engaged in the seven furlong Mcßae Handicap at Awapuni. has stamina and can handle any sort of going. Placed on each day of the recent Dunedin meeting, Giggleswick, who has devc.opcd into a ueet tl burther, is likely to make the trip north from Ricearton for the hack hurdles at the Wellington meeting. Though Jolly Beggar has been nominated for tlic Trentham fixture, southern opinion is that he nitty he reserved for the Grand National meeting, with a. prior race at tho Christchurch Hunt mooting. Aube’s Two Wins.

Aube had two decisive wins at the Dannevirke Hunt meeting on Saturday, annex ing both the Novice Stakes and the Ladies’ Bracelet, though raised 4th in the latter. He has been rchandicapped for tho Aianawatu mooting. Not For Trentham.

Epris, who has had 20 starts this season for only one second placing, will not be taken to the Wellington meeting. Beau Pere Filly Named.

Messrs J. T. and P. A. O’Neill, _ joint owners of Lowenberg, have claimed the name of Jane Seymour for their roan filly by Beau l’ere from Wood Pulp. The inly is one of the eight yearlings by Beau Pore nominated for the Wanganui Guineas ot 1938, so the Son-in-Law sire promises to he well represented in the classic.

Survoy Changes hands. According to an Auckland report., the five-year-old gelding Survoy, winner of three races tuts season, has been sold by Mr W. Townsend to a patron of tho Canterbury trainer, A. S. Litis. Wins At Flemington.

Trained bv J. T. Jamieson, Upoko Ariki recently scored his fourth win on the Huntington track, for which he apparently lias a liking.
