Received June 29, 1-20 p.m. LONDON, June 28. Speaking in the debate on the proposal to increase the Exchange Equalisation Fund by £200.000.000, Mi W Rethwick-Lawrence (Labour) said that his party supported the new proposal so far as it was designed to assist France. The Labour Party accepted the principle of the Exchange Equalisation Account because it had partly restored the control of curiency and finance to the Government whereas the Bank of England bad long controlled the life blood ot the community. But the La bo in I arty thought the £200.000,000 increase unnecessarily high. restrict The Labour amendment to lestnct the increase to £150,000.000 was refected by 197 votes to 96 ami the i essoin t-ion was agreed to without vision.
