COMPENSATION CLAIMED.

ACTIONS AGAINST POWER BOARD Per Press Association. ELTHAM, Dec. 7. Two claims for compensation, amounting to about £3OOO, against the Taranaki Electric Power Board have been heard during the past two days' before the Chief Justice. Compensation was claimed for drainage alterations and alleged reduction in value of lands, which could not be properly cultivated or drained by reason of the erection of electric wires; for responsibility for the risk of damage to electric work by the escape of fire whilst burning off waste on the said lands; and for the risk of damage by fire through the escape of electrical energy. This morning arrangements were made for the law points to be decided by tho Full Court and the cases were adjourned sine die.
