ANTI-FASCIST AGENTS.
OBJECTIONABLE INCIDENTS. TO BE FIRMLY REPRESSED. Received December 7, 2.35 p.m. ROME, Dec. 6. “Exiled anti-Fascist agents and provocateurs have caused most objectionable incidents,” said Signor Mussolini at a meeting of the Ministerial Council when denouncing the disturbances following the most recent attempt at assassination. “Many episodes have been exaggerated as harmless fireworks became bombs and high explosives. Demonstrations against foreign consulates are a bad custom belonging to the old regime, but they will bo put down by every means in my power. Equally deplorable are the attacks on Catholic churches and priests for whom Fascism should have the greatest respect.” Referring to the laws for the defence of the State, ho said that they were only directed against a few hundreds of irreconceivnble enemies and criminals. Good citizens, even nonFascists, need have no fear.
