CRICKET.

AUSTRALIAN XI CRITICISM. GREGORY’S~INTENTIONS. LONDON, April 15. Sporting Life says: “It is amazing that anyone in Australia seriously suggests Woodfull’s inclusion in the 1926 team. At least six batsmen, Kippax, Morgan, Liddicut, Pritchard, Rymill and Gun, have better claims. Woodfull has done nothing in Sheffield Shield to justify his inclusion. “Surely nobody in Australian takes New Zealand bowling seriously. The report that Gregory may not come owing to business need not be taken too seriously. ‘He anno meed his retirement from big cricket in 1923, and forgot his resolution in 1924. He will find it very hard to resist public opinion, and his own inclinations in 1926. If he doesn’t come, Gamble, of Victoria, ought to provide a splendid substitute.”
