PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB. The bowling season of the Palmerston North Club was officially ended on Saturday when a tournament was conducted. Rinks from the Terrace End, Manawatu, Northern and Takaro Clubs participated, and, despite a sharp breeze, play was of an enjoyable nature. Three games ot seven heads each were played, Corbridge (Manawatu) and Trott (Palmerston North), meeting in the final game of five heads when Corbridgo won s—o. , . A dainty afterncon tea was served in the pavilion by the ladies. BOWLING IN FIJI. NEW GREEN AT SUVA. SUVA, April 23. The game of bowls has taken a strong hold of the people in Suva. A splendid green has been laid down, and will he in a fairly fit condition for play by J«lyGreat preparations are being made for tlie opening oeremony. Twenty bowlers, wrtn ten ladies, will leave Sydney by the AO- - on July 1, With the object of assisting at the opening ceremony, wora has also been received that teams will be coming from Auckland and Wellington. The club has already over 90 members, and has spent over £BOO, raised among the members, on tho new green.
