Commander Eustace Maude, R.N., aged 77, who commences the voyage to England in a 25-feet sloop on May 1, has arrived at Victoria, British Columbia, en route for tjie open sea with Panama as the next port of call. He will not sight land until he reaches the canal. He has provisions for 100 days and expects to make the canal in 60 days. He has 60 gallons of water and the same quantity of gasolene aboard the vessel, the Half Moon, which has a 5 horse-power engine.— A. and N.Z. cable.
