NO CHANGE REPORTED TO-DAY,
No change in tho health of the Prime Minister . has been reported since yesterday, when it was stated that his condition continued to give cause for grayo apxiety. Prime Minister was very seriously ill. He had had a hard row to hoc and to-day he lay stricken on his bed,, desperately illlie was a brave man in his sickness, as in health, still showing that indomitable pluck which had marked his career. No matter of what party politics everybody would sympathise with Mr Massey. CABLE FROM CANADIAN PREMIER. The Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Hon. W. Mackenzie King, has cabled as follows to Mr Massey: —“Regret exceedingly to learn of your illness. Colleagues join me in wishing you speedy and complete restoration to health. Kindest personal regards. (Sgd.) Mackenzie King.” BROAD MIND AND BIG HEART. NEW ZEALAND FIRST ALL THE TIME. Pat Press Association. 'INVERCARGILL May 1. In replying to expressions of sympathy, the Hon. J. G. Coates stated this afternoon that Mr Massey’s condition was far from satisfactory and that the Prime Minister was much weaker. The Premier had a broad mind and a big heart and put New Zealand first all the time. JJe appreciated their reference to Mi - Maesey as “a true Britisher and a great Imperialist” and would gonvey to Mrs Massey their expressions of sympathy.
