MANAWATU HUNT.
MEET AT AOKAUTERE. The Manawatu Hunt met at Apkautere on Wednesday afternoon, there being a good muster of followers of the hpupds. The sport anil the paddocks were in i-plendjd order. There were two good checks, und everybody got to tlio end of each witjlQpt tlio slightest mishap, after a very pleasant ride. Among those riding f.o hounds were Messrs L. li. Collinson (Muster) on Punjaub; J. Sexton (huntsman) Ghautauqua; F. Edmonds (hon. whip) Peggy O’Neil; Miss Laura Meade Flight; Miss Muriel Anderson, Pearl; Messrs D. B. McEwen, Snowflake; W. W. Andrews, Tarero; W. Scott, Kaika; D. Scott, Gpssack; M. B. Wood, a chestnut; J. Doreen, Birkenpse; R. Emmett, Sunshine; W. Hill, Emperor; B. Turner, Adrose. At the conclusion of the second cheek, an adjournment was made to the public hall, where the members of the Hunt and the spectators were entertained at afternoon tea by Mesdumes Anderson, Gosling, Seott and Field, the efforts of the ladies being greatly appreciated. Mr D. B. McEwen moved a vote of thanks to them for their hospitality, and also to the property owners for the use of their paddocks for hunting over, the motion being carried by acclamation. Mr W. Ga.with returnee) thanks on behalf of tlio ladies and the property owners, and in doing so said he was sure the ladies would be only too pleased to entertain the members of the Hunt any time they came along, and the properties would always be available for their use.
