MAKING FALSE RETURNS.
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. Robert D. Benjamin, builder, of Christchurch, was fined £250 by the Magistrate this morning on five charges of making false income tax returns, and with failing to make returns as required. The prosecution said that it was a grave case and instanced that in 1921 the tax actually paid was £lB, whereas it should have been £1259.
