FUNERAL OF JEAN DE RESZKE.
MELBA IN TEARS. LONDON, April 11.. Dame Nellie Melba burst into tears in Paris at the funeral of her old friend, Jean de Reszke, the famous operatic tenor. More than one promising Australian had been given letters of introduction to de Reszke by Daine Nellie. The hoarse arrived at the Mont Parnasse cemetery from the Gare de Lyon, whither the coffin had been brought front’the Riviera, earlier than had been expected. Consequently many of the mourners, including Dame Nellie, were late.
