PERSONAL.

Mr J C. McCrea. chief postmaster, Wellington, was in Palmerston North today on official business. Mr J. A. Manson, a former resident of Palmerston North, but now _of Auckland, is at present on a visit to this town. Mr A. Dawson, formerly chief postmaster, Blenheim, who has been appointed to the charge of the local office, entered upon his new duties on Wednesday. Mr W. F. JaVvie, who had been acting as postmaster since tho retirement of Mr R. Martin, proceeded to New Plymouth to act in a similar capacity pending the appointment there of a successor to Mr H. O. F. Bree, who has been transferred to Wanganui.
