HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
GAME IN FLOURISHING CONDITION. 0 Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 30. At the annual meeting ofe the New Zealand Hockey Association the report showed the game to be in a flourishing position, with increased interest being shown in the schools grade. The finances were satisfactory. The election of officers resulted aa follows: —Patron, the Governor-Gen-eral; presidentj Mr H. S. J. Goodman; vice-presidents, the presidents of the affiliated associations; secretary, Mr W. H. Down; treasurer, Mr P. N. Quartermain; auditor, Mr A. Stuart; executive, Messrs H. Throp, CBellamy. R. Grade, A. Drayton, W, J. Franklin, G, Strack, A. Preston. It was agreed that the annual tournament; be held in Wellington in August. The Otaki Club was odriseebto apply for affiliation with the Manawatu Assoriaticu. It was agreed to request associations to apply for matches with the Australian team as soon as possible. Mr L. H. Norton was empowered to interview the English Association on the question of sending a team to the Dominion.
