MURDERS IN BULGARIA.

Received May 1, 8.45 a.m. LONDON, April 30; Messrs Wedgwood, Mackinder and Malone, the members of the British Labour delegation, report that after the recent explosion in Sofia lorries left the prisons during the night taking batches of prisoners tc the country to be shot. Tno Government which came into power through a series of murders, beginning with the assassination. of the Premier Stambendisky in 1923, had been guilty of ruthless tyranny and the murdering of political opponents. Many thousands had been tortured, strangled or pounded to death. This would surely arouse a volcanic upheaval. They urge the Anglo-American publics to protest against executions and imprisonment without trial.—Sydney Sun cable. MEMBER OF GANG SHOT DEAD. Received May 1, 8.60 a.m. feOFIA, April 29. A detachment of police' motored to a farmhouse at Darvintza, where they learned that Grantcharoff,, a member of a gang of conspirators, who were committing acts of terrorism, was hiding. In response to an order to surrender, Grantcharoff appeared at the window of the grartftry and fired on the police, who returned the fire, killing Grantcharoff. The schools are filled with Communist and Agrarian prisoners. Eleven were killed and thirty wounded in a four-hour battle between revolutionaries and police.—A. and N.Z. cable.'
