During combined naval and military aerial operations an aeroplane caught fire and crashed in an unsuccessful attempt to land, The pilot was incinerated, while two others were badly burned and were sent to hospital.— A. and N.Z. cable. AUSTRALIAN FATALITY. NAME OF WOMAN VICTIM. Received May I, 8.50 a.m. SYDNEY, April 30. The name of the woman victim or the aeroplane smash at the Agricultral Show at Orange is now ascertained to be Mrs; Harriet Hickey. Thomas Linn, the pilot, had been refused a pilot's license by the Civil Aviation Department some time ago on the ground of his medical unfitness. — Press Association. When at an altitude of about 150 feet a ’plane piloted by Thomas Lynn, a well-known aviator, and carrying a woman passenger, crashed and burst into flames, both bodies when recovered being charred beyond recognition. It Was stated that Linn hac been in indifferent health for some time and was always complaining of heart trouble.
