By the Ulimaroa.- which arrived at Wellington this week, Mr J. Cameron brought back The Hawk, and also a youngster by Magpie. The Hawk looked remarkably well, end seemed to be in splendid condition. Besides J. Cameron’s there were on board the Ulimaroa ten young horses, four of Mr \V. G. Stead’s, four from G. Brice sent to Mr Donnelly at Waipukurau, one to Mr Hassell, and one to Mr F. Ormond. Messrs W. D. and H. O. Wills, Ltd., the well-known tobacco and cigarette importers, have forwarded us copies of their sporting prints of Gloaming, Desert Gold and Sasanof. The pictures have been remarkably well executed, and show these famous performers on the turf to the best advantage. The photo of Gloaming was specially taken for the above firm, and Mr Mason, the trainer, considers it to be one of the finest he has seen of this Wonderful horse. The prints are being presented in return for Three Castle and Capstan cigarette packets, after the style of the All Blacks photogravure scheme.
