SMALL COMPENSATION.
OFFERED IN ENGLAND. Received April 30, 8.45 a.m LONDON, April 29. After eight years’ negotiations the victims of the German bombardment of the East Coast during the war period are receiving offers of compensation from tho Government. John Duffield, whose wife was killed and he himself injured in the bombardment of Scarborough, received an offer of £2O, which ho declares is merely adding insult to injury.—A. and N.Z. cable.
