SUSPENSION OF PLAUEPvS. DELHI, April 27. A meeting of the Council of the All India Lawn Tennis Association was held at Lahore to consider the suspensions of the Indian Davis Cup players, A. HFyzee and S. M. Jacob, by the English Lawn Tennis Association. At the conclusion of the meeting a communique was issued stating that a cable had been sent, to the manager of the Indian Davis , Cup team, instructing him to give the players concerned lhe necessary undertalcing to settle the matter The Indian Association raised no question as to the English Association’s right to act as it did, but the Indian Association questions tile method adopted. —Reuter. ASSOCIATION DEFENDED. LONDON, April 27. The Daily News, defending the Lawn Tennis Association against the charge of autocratic action in suspending players, declares : “It is high time the association took drastic action regarding sham amateurs. The word ‘expenses’ covers a multitude of sins. The association bus been far too patient with players posing as amateurs who are really as much professionals us paid footballers.”—Sydney Sun cable.
