OBJECTION BY SEAMEN. LONDON, April 25. The Admiralty lias decided to substitute cups and saucers lor in the seamen’s messes, thus terminating; the old custom, dating back to Nelson’s day. The news of the change is meeting with a mixed reception. A seasoned bluejacket expresses the opinion that it is a sign of effeminacy, while another says tho cups and saucers will be liable to be unshipped in heavy weather. The change will first be effected in the home fleet.—A. and N.Z. cable.
