CHARGE OF BURGLARY.
ACCUSED BEFORE AUCKLAND COURT. Per Presß Association. AUCKLAND. April 27. The Police Court was occupied to-day with charges of burglary against Daniel Flynn (also known as Mike Flynn) and Robert Heaton Munto, the charges against both conjointly involving goods valued at £1296 and against Munro £386. Detective Barling, who arrested Munro at I'Tnnkton on April 6, said the assistance Munro gave the police had resulted m the recovery of hundreds of pounds worm of the stolen goods. Munro etated that Flynn ind been closely associated with him in all the crimen involving the present charges.
Flynn in his statement to the police detailed visits to various places with Munro and said lie regretted having comi.iitted the offences and was prepured to lender all possiblo assistance in clearing tlio matters up.
In bis statement to the police Munro said that whereas Flynn alleged that he (Munro) did tin actual breaking an i entering, on Ins j-vn in son e ca-es, rue man could not get into some of the places without outside help, "When Flynn first net me, said Munro, “lie gained my confidence by the fact th.-t he suit! he tad burgled several places prior to iny meeting him. Foolishly I thought that ho could not be caught by the police and so consented to help him in other burglaries. ’’ Mr Moody intimated that both accused would formally pload “not guilty.” Tliey were committed to tho Supreme Court for trial, bail being fixed at £SOO each. A charge against Elsie Lovegrove of receiving stolen goods was adjourned fi r a week.
