HOCKEY REFEREES. (From Our Own Correspondent). At the annual meeting of the Hockey Referees’ Association the balance-sheet were submitted and adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Mr 11. Toye, president; Mr J. Herd man, vice-president, and Mr R. Teague, fiecietarv. It was decided to approach the Tedding Hockey Association asking that referees’ travelling expenses be defrayed. It was announced that there was a good possibility of acquiring the servicer, of several additional referees. LADIES’ HOCKEY COMPETITION. It has been decided to commence the ladies’ hockey competition next Suturday, rather than further delay matches in view of the uftiliated clubs' tournoy which is to be held on May 23 Several clubs are affected by the present half-holiday and will - not know whether they can enter teams or not. until the half-holiday j»sue has been decided. The following is the first drawing. May 2: Carnarvon v, Ohakea, at Carnarvon, at 3 p.m.; Hinekoas v. High School Old Girls, at Feilding, at 2 p.m. , High School a bye.
