Rev. Walker, of the Anglican Church, Bulla, is leaving to take up his duties in Johnaonville.

Brother Michael, an educationalist, of Pago Pago, American Samoa, is on a holiday visit to New Zealand.

Mr N. Sinclair is leaving Palmerston North to morrow evening on a visit to Arapuni hyd.-o-electric works. Mr F. S. Canning, who has been postmaster at Bulls for many years, is about to go into retirement and will tako up his residence in Dunedin.

Mr Death, manager of tho Rangitikei Dairy Factory, Bulls, has severed his connection with the company and will take over the management of tho Awahuri factory.

Tho Sir Julius von Haast prize for geology n tho University of New Zealand has bccn_ awarded to Mr C. R. Laws, University College, Auckland, who has gained his M.Sc. degree with first-class honours in geology. Mr C. Doreen, formerly of the staff of the local branch of tho Bank of New Zealand, but now of Kobu Kohu, is at present in Palmerston North on his annual leave.

Mr J. Sexton, huntsman to the Manawatu Hunt, has tendered his resignation having accepted a similar position with the North Taranaki Hunt. At a meeting of the local club last evening the resignation was accepted with regret.

Messrs A. Gifford, of Auckland, and A. McNeil, of Wellington, two prominent officials of the Railway Department, together with Mr J. Carnahan, of Palmerston North, were visitors at to-day’s meeting of the Luncheon Club, Mr G. E. Miller has been promoled from Assistant District Public Trustee, to Distriot Public Trustee, Wellington, in succession to Mr C. Zacliariuh, who has retired. Mr F. T. Carson, of the Wellington office succeeds Mr Miller, states a Press Association message.
