ALLEGED KIDNAPPING.
ACCUSED FOUND NOT GUILTY. LONDON, April 23. Harry Pollitt, cross-examined at the trial of five men for allegedly kidnapping him, said that lie was a Comiiiunlst who addressed trade unions. He admitted a conviction for seditious speeches in 1921. Since then he had made similar speeches all over the country. _ „ „
Counsel: You might be described as famous? Pollitt: Yes; and I’m only young. He admitted that be shook bands with bis captors preparatory to putting tbelli for trial. He was doing that in order to see bow justice worked. Rowlandson, in evidence, said that neither the Fascist! headquarters nor the branch authorised the kidnapping of Pollitt, who left them good friends. Witness gave Pollitt £5. Pollitt: You’re a liar. Pollitt was allegedly kidnapped at a station when on the way to a big centre to address a meeting.
