FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Foxton Harbour Board was held in Palmerston North on Friday afternoon. 'There were present: Messrs J. Linklnter, M.P. (chairman), J. Ohrystull, E. 11. R. llolbcn, W. Barber and T. .1. Chipham.

It was decided that the chambers’ letters be received and that they lx? informed that the matter was receiving special attention; also that the hoard wns awaiting the decision' of the Manawatu-Oroua River Board, and at the same time thanking them for the interest taken. GENERAL. A letter was • received from Levin and Co., Ltd., asking for an extended lease of the site of their present building used by the Manawatu river service.—A member remarked that they should not commit themselves for ten years; it was a very valuable piece of ground; a yearly lease would tlo very well. Another member was in favour of granting a yearly lease at 25s a week, hut. on the chairman and other members objecting to this, it was decided to hold the matter until next meeting, when information as to whether the company intended building, etc., would be known. \V. Wood'nam wrote submitting a tender for claying To Wharangi extension road. It was decided to hold the matter over until next meeting. From the Railway Department submitting the following plant at valuation: Five small store trucks and six large store trucks. It was decided that the secretary negotiate with the department for an.\ trucks required. Accounts amounting to £l3O 12s 3d were passed for payment.
