FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
LOYAL MANAWATU LODGE. At the fortnightly meeting of Loyal watu Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., on Thursday. N.G., Bro. H. Lock, presided. Owing to an increase in funeral benelits to £250, curds of contribution were issued. Nominations for officers were received, and will remain open till next lodge meeting. A member in need was made a vote from the benevolent fund. A degree lecture was given by P.P.G.M. Bro. H. Sliarman and P.G. Bro. J. W. Stone, when several candidates were advanced to the respective degrees. It was decided to hold a meeting on Friday, May 1, to confer the purple degree. The vice-grand reminded members of the Monday evening dances.
