HOCKEY.
NEW CLUB FORMED. A meeting of the staff's of Messrs Collinson und Cunninghamc and Messrs Coilinson and Son was held last week for the purpose of forming a men’s hockey team. Mr F. Lloyd, who was called to tho chair, stated that it was a good sign to seo so many young players keenly interested. He hoped that they would take an active part in the game and in the event of an overseas team visiting New Zealand he saw no reason why some ot those present should not represent Manawatu. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr L. H. Collinson; president, Mr J. R. Gunninghame; vice-presidents, Messrs 11. Collinson, 11. Cunninghaine, A. D. Campbell, A. Rowe, F. Ward, 11. Setter, W. L. McPherson, F. Williams, G. Hillyer, 8011, T. Jamieson, 11. E. Bennett, M. Johnstone, R. Donald and Misses McKay and Mutthewson; secretary, Mr E. Fryer; club captain, Mr F. Nicholls. It was decided that the team enter for the competition under the name of the C. and (J. Hockey Club. The following players joined the club: Messrs F.■ Lloyd, Inkpsn, N. Hanson, C. Dixon, L. Waliis, F. Nicholls, E. Fryer? T. Carter, R. Griffiths, K. .Steer, B. Ogier, \V. H. S. Smith, A. Ronberg, C. Tong? K. A. Collinson, V. Cunninghanio and R. Chatfield. The team’s colours were left to be considered at the next meeting of the club.
