PREMIER’S HEALTH
NO CHANGE AT WEEK-END. RESOLUTIONS OF SYMPATHY.’ There was no change in the condition of the Prime Ministers’ health at the week-end. At it meeting of the Dairy Produce Control Board in Wellington last week, the following resolution was passed:—“That the board expresses its deep_ sympathy with Airs Massey and family in the serious illness which has overtaken the Prime Minister, and hopes that he will soon be restored to his usual good health.”
At Friday’s meeting of the Foxton Harbour Board sympathy with the Prime Minister in Ills sorious illness was expressed; also sincere sympathy with Mrs Massey in her hour of trial. “The Premier’s illness is nothing short of a calamity to the country and is looked upon with sorrow und regret, not only by the people of New Zealand but also by the people of the Empire,’’ remarked Mr J. Linklater, M.P. (charman of the board), the speaker adding that, being closely associated with the Premier, he knew that during the last session he had carried on. though unwell, whereus the majority would have given up. The Premier had. faced rnuny obstacles ; and he hud now guided the ship of State into calm waters.
