FIGHTING IN BULGARIA
FOUR THOUSAND KILLED. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) BELGRADE, April 20. Sixteen thousand Bulgarian Communists have been arrested. Fighting is occurring throughout tile country and four thousand have been killed. The Communists have captured Tirnovo and Tsarihod.—A. and N.Z. cable. DEATH OF A COMMUNIST. SOFIA, April 20. Minkoff (vice-president ot the Central Communist Committee, and alleged to be one of .the authors of the Cathedral explosion) was killed by the police while resisting arrest. —A. and N.Z. cable.
LONDON, April 20. The Daily Mail’s Sofia correspondent states that Minkoff was hiding in a friend’s house when the gendnrmie arrived. Minkoff and five comrades violently resisted, throwing grenades. The besiegers took cover and a pot shot killed Minkoff, whose supporters then surrendered.—A. and N.Z. cable. INCREASING THE ARMY. PARTS, April 20. The inter-Allied Commission lias reported that Bulgaria’s request for ail increase in her army by 10,000 is justifiable.—A. and N.Z. cable.
