MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Tho following nominations have been received for tho Mayoralty: Messrs Hyde and Murdoch; councillors, Messrs E. Butt, J. Curran, Downes, Christian, Hausmann, G. Hook, L. Martin, MoLaggan, McCullook, J. Richardson, A. Richards, J. H. Roberts, E. Spencer, T. Thwaites, G. Watkins. Only two of tho present council are seeking re-election. Mr W. 11. Gunning has been elected unopposed as a member of the Horowhenua Rower Board.
The water works will bo completed in a couple of days and every house in Shannon can then link up with the system.
