STOKE POGES SAVED. WORLD-WIDE APPEAL SUCCEEDS. LONDON, April 20. A world-wide appeal for funds to restore Stoke Poges Church (where Gray wrote his famous Elegy) and purchase the adjoining ten acres, lias been .successful. The land will shortly lie handed over as a national trust and Gray’s church will thus be saved as a beauty spot. Australians and New Zealanders subscribed generously.—A. and N.Z. cable.
