The visitors were entertained at luncheon, returning to Pahiatua to attend a smoke concert in connection with the Farmers' rnion Conference to night. KEEFTON, May '29. The Consolidated Goldfields Company (English) has secured an option over the Pen Kings Wells now Blackwater quartz roof find. A substantia! deposit has i been paid. A large number of hands are being engaged. Full details arc not yet available, but the mine is expeeted to provo extremely good, and it will greatly benefit the Becfton district. WELLINGTON, May 29. The Union Company's Tarawera, which left Wellington wharf at 5.10 this afternoon for Napier, collided with the hulk Coromandel, which the tug Duco was bringing in from tho stream to the Glasgow wharf, 'the Coromandel struck the Tarawcra and tore away one of the top plates on tho port side near the forceastie head. The Tarawera returned to the wiiarf for examination, but as no further damage was apparent she left again at 6.30. Tho Coromandel is undamaged.
