Per i'rcss Association. CHRISTCHURCH. May 2;). At the Addington live stock market to-day there were large entries of sheep, cattle, and pigs, and a good attendance. There was a fair sale for store sheep and fat lambs were firm at the previous week's rates. Prime beef also sold well. There was a slight advance in fat wethers and prime ewes were firm, while others were easier. Good dairy cows sold well, but there was little demand for stores. Fat pigs were in good demand, and stores sold rather better than of late. Store Sheep.—The yarding of store sheep was made up principally of wethers and lambs, nearly all in small lots and there was a very good demand for all classes. A lino of 109 full-mouthers sold at 12* Gd, small lots of old ewes 7s 2d to 9s -Id, J.SB7 forward wethers IBs Id, 77 stores 15s fid, 750 two tooths lsa M to ltti GJ, 185 at 12s 3d, 282 at 12s, 115 culls 9s 4d, 2.39 lambs 9s Id, 241 ewe lambs lis Gd, smaller lots 8s to 12s Bd, Fat Lambs. - There was again a large entry of fat lambs, totalling 0211, and including some very lino lines and also some mixed and unfinished sorts. The range of prices were 10s 6d to 19a for prime and l&j 0d to 15s for light and medium. l*nt fchecp—l here was a very large mixed yarding of fat sheep, a fair proportion being prime heavy wethers and ewes. There was good competition throughout the sale, and prices closed iirui, prime wethers and ewes showing a slight advance, while aged and inferior ewes were cheaper. The range of prices was.- Prime wethers 21 s to 2is Id, extra 25s lid, other* from 17s (id. prime heavy ewes 17,« to 18s 6d, extra to 20s, medium to good I 5« to l«s (id, aged, 12s to Ms Cd, good merino wethers lis 7d to 15s 9d, Fat Cu-tle.—The entry of fat cattle totalled 268, among which wore some prime heavy stores and some wellfinished handy weight heifers, but a considerable portion of tbo yarding was composed of unfinished steers, Thorc was a good demand, especially for primo | steers, and for these priccs woro rather S firmer. Steers made £5 15s to £11 2s fld, heifers £J 15s to £7 17a Gd. and cows £1 5s to £7 15s, and one extra to £9, equal to 20s to 216 for prime, 17a to lfta for medium, and 15a to 16a Gd for cow and inferior per IGOibs. A good yardinc of veal calves sold at 7s Gd to £2 ss, and one extra large sucker £A. Store and Dairy Cattle.—A small mixed entry of etoro cattle met with a uull sale and low prices. Theie was a better demand for good dairy cows, and they eold at 47 Kh to £9 & Gd, and others 4.3 lOa to £7 Pigs wore entered ia largo numbers, and tnt- demand for fats improved as . Progressed, porkers being wanted for txport. Stores sold rather better than of late.
