Heavy Traffic.
(To tbe Editor). Si k, —Kindly grant me sufficient space in your valuable journal to remind our worthy Mayor and Councillors of a fact which, I think, has in the past been entirely overlooked, viz. "heavy trailic." Now, air, considering that there are at present some fifty draya within the Borough continually carting heavy loads of gravel, sand, bricks, loam, etc., to one place or the other, and at the same lime realising that the said drays are responsible for at least one half of tho damage done to our streets, I think it right and fair to the ratepayers as a whole that those earning a livelihood thus should be asked to contribute something, say .fit? per dray per year, payable half-yearly, in the shape of a license towards the finances of tho Borough. Hoping our Council, who have done good work in the past, will give this matter their due consideration with a view to betterment of our streets.—l am, etc., Good Roaus. Palmers lon N., 22nd May, 1900.
