Friendly Societies' Conference.

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This day. The Friendly Societies' Conference was continued this morning. A motion that represehtatives of Friendly Societies attending the Grand Lodge or the annual meetings should be allowed a l'ree travelling pass on the iNew Zealand railways was rejected. A motion that Lodges reciprocate with regard to the members refused admission to other Lodges or expelled from the same was rejected. Some discussion took place concerning the office of the registrar. A motion that it be a recommendation to the Government to appoint a competent actuary to the office of registrar was carried. It was also resolved to recommend that an actuary be attached to the department.
