Annua! Meeting. « — r — Tho Falmenston North 1 lilies held their twenty-sixth annua! meeting last evening. Captain Mounney presided. The annual report was of a very satisfactory nature. Notwithstanding several very heavy items of expenditure, there was a credit balance of £55 lis 6d, a result principally due to careful management. Tho total receipts for the year was £876 7a Gd, and tho expenditure JBB2O 16s, the principal item of expenditure being tho full dress uniform, £272 7s 6d, Fifty one members capitated during the year, the capitation grant amountmgto JBIHS 4$ 9d. For the first time for many years the report stated that the corps was boiow full strength, a result due (not general), it was thought, to the patriotic spirit stimulated by the South African war having entirely evaporated. It was hoped that members would induce eligible recraits to join the corps, as there being another honvy year ahead the company would need its fail strength. The Eaater cimp was. well attended and a great success. The inspection parades were also well attended, and on the shooting field the corps had proved itself one of tho beat on the coast. Regret was oxpret»&cd at tho retirement from the cotp&of Lieut. Porrin ; and tho members were complimented on the fact that the corps had a full complement of officers, and the wish whb expressed tho members would keep tho officers for many years to come. Several of -the "old banduhad resigned, although thero were still a members wearing service medals, and it was hoped tbat those old members still in the corps would act as an incentive to tho younger volunteer* to keep on until the full period. Pleasure was expressed at the full recovery of Capt. Mounaey from his recent uevere illness. The eleetiou of officers for the ensniiig year resulted as follows Finance Committee, Color-Sergt. capper, Mr W. liandell; Custodian, Vol. Kcll#; Marker, Lance-Corporal McCalL , Ex-Lieulenant J. Perrm wan deeled a life honorary member of the company. Framed eertilieates were presented to Volunteers L, Fenton and A. Payne for attendance during the year. Tho Company's Belt was presented to the winner, Color-Sergt. Perrm. Presentations of cutlery were made to Color-Sergts. Parke,s and Perria in recognition of service* rendered during the year eh custodian and secretary respectively. Votes of thanks were accorded to StafY-Sergeant-Major Peacock (Govertr nu'ut Instructor), the Press, and the workers. Votes of five guineas were also passed to the secretary and eustodiau, and one of two guineas to the secretary of the Shooting Committee.
