The Stock Market.

Mr W. Rose reports on sales as follows :— May 12th, Dannevirke horse sale—l had an entry of upwards of 150 horses, M. Cohr's d 5-horse teams were not sold, the vendor refusing to break the teams, otherwise they would have sold separately, being a first-class lot. Cheap draughts, spring carters, hacks and light harness horses found a ready sale at ruling prices. May 14th, Norsewood stock sale.— A full yarding of both sheep and cattle, all of which were practically sold under the hammer. Sheep: Fat sheep, mixed ages, 12s and 13s. Cattle: lat cows, £'.[ to £4 15s, 3-year old steers, £4 2s 6d, 2 to 2;'--ycar .old steers, £2 10s, springing lieitcrs, £-i 15s, 18-month to 2-year old steers, £2 6s, empty cows, £2 10s. bulls from £1 upwards. May 18th, Dannevirke stock sale.— Three lines of the advertised sheep did not come forward, owing to unforseen circumstances, but purchasers were found for them after tbe sale. There was a good yarding of cattle, the quality being on the average exceptionally good.

Sheep sold under the hammer. I quote as follows:-Fat ewes 14a 7d and 12s 6d, store ewes (empty) 7s Id. Cattlebullocks £6 6s and £5 2s 6d, fat heifers f4 10s to JB4 17s,'fat cows £5 3s down 44; 3yr old steers iJS lSs to £4, 2Jyr oi ' « f .eer»d63 3s to £3 15s, weanpr.s up to 13* >U. Pigs—porkers 14a to 23-. siips 7s 6d. The big lino of 2i to r old steers passed in at the sale wepe afterwards sold at £8 15s.
