" An Irrefutable Case "

LONDON, May 20. A deputation of 550 women suffragists waited upon the Prime Minister at the I' oreign Office with a manifesto containing 750,000 signatures, and asked tor the franchise. Sir Henry Campbeli-Bannerman said the deputation was conclusive evidence cf the irrefutable case the women had. The Government, however, was not united as to the expediency of acting in the matter, and he must preach patience. The reply was hissed, and meetings of protest were subsequently held ou the Thames Embankment and in Trafalgar
