Te Rangi Pai
The advance booking of seats which took place to-day at Mr Park's augurs well for the success of Te Hangi Pai's recitals in the Opera House on Wednesday and Thursday evenings next. The kecu interest taken is a proof of the appreciation of the music-loving community, and from the popular inducements put forth by the management there is every expectation of u large turn out of the general public. It is seldom that concert programmes so attractive as those prepared for the local recitals are placed before the Palmerslon public, every item being picked from an extensive repertoire, while all the artists are m the front rank. Miss Amy Murphy has already achieved much popularity locally, and the management were wise in retaining her services. Mr Hand ley Wells was specially engaged by Te Kangi Pat on her recent tour of England, and she spealc.ii of him a» being one of the finest basses heard on the Homo concert platform. The re-appearance of such an old favourite us M r "W. B. Cadzaw cannot fail to be acceptable*, and reports refer to his tenor voice as being sweeter than ever. Mr Horace Hunt, a clever piauiste, completes an unusually attractive concert party.
