Wedding Bells

Aftkeit—Hiddleton

The Methodist Church, Ashhurst, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday last, when Mr Walter G-. Aitken, youngest son of Mr John Aitken, of the Gorge, was married to Miss M. A. (Daisy) Middleton, second daughter of Mr T. Middleton. The ceremony was performed by the liev. J. J. Lewis, Misses L. and A. Searle presiding 'at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in cream figured voile with hat to match, and carried a handsome shower bouquet. She was attended by Misses Bessie Middleton (sister of the bride!, and Myrtle Clapham (niece of the bridegroom), both of whom wore pale blue with hat to match and carried pretty bouquets. Mr C. Aitken, Feilding, was best man. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold cable bangle, and to each of the maids a gold brooch. After the ceremony an adjournment was made to the residence of Mr J. N. Clapham, when a number ot guests were entertained and the usual toasts duly honoured. The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue costume. The happy couple, amidst a shower of rice and good wishes, left for Blenheim and Kelson, where the honeymoon will be spent. The wedding presents were both numerous and costly.
