Bidding at auction was somewhat irregular, but all classes of good quality found ready sale immediately on being passed in. Buyers from all outside districts were present, and of the number of sheep sold nearly half were 'purchased for other parts. Mr W. Perry's sheep were eagerly competed for, the various lots easily topping the market for this season—his 2-tooth ewes being bought by a Waikato client, the balance being knocked down to purchasers from Manawatu and Eangitikei. The bulk of the yarding of lambs was purchased by a Wanganui buyer, and the best wethers by a client from Waverley.
