WANGANUI, This day
A number of visiting horses have arrived for the Wanganui meeting. The tracks this morning were somewhat heavy and the weather showery.
Valkyrie worked before breakfast, doing a couple of strong rounds on the flat. Albuera did two circuits at a fair pace. Kuroki and Matatara went round together over the schooling hurdles. The former finished in front. Kuroki gave a good display, the jumping especially being most attractive. Lualla and Hokio did medium paced work. Pardon easily beat Sedgemoor over live furlongs in lmin 6sec, the latter moving very scratchily. Sir William and North Star had a turn over the schooling fences, the former showing to most advantage, though losing ground at every fence. Plavfair and Rangiwhenua galloped a mile in fast time. The former looks big, but evidently is very well and finished strongly.
