A correspondent forwards the following : — At Sandon on Saturday the first of the Foxton Sab' Union fixture*, Awahou v. Sandon, was played, resulting in u wm for Sandon by 17 points 10 nil. i Awahou learn were lust season's cap winners. Tries were scored for Sandon by MeNae, liichardson. Sanson (2) and Hartley. Kiehurdsson converted one try. Awahou were minus the services of some of their best player®. " Tmy " McNae, who is this season captaining the Sandon team, is in great form. The Orotsa Bridge v. I'orotawhao match, played at Foxton, resulted in a win for Porotawhao by 8 points to 5. The feeling is strong in the SubUnion that the winning team should be allowed to play off for the Hank) a Shield. Apart from the financial aspect, the parent Union would be giving encouragement to the players in a young Sub-Union, besides affofding the selector of the rep. team a chanee to see the abilities of the players of the best team in that Sub-Union. The features for next Saturday are Awahou v Porotawhao, at Foxton ; and Oroua Bridge v. Sandon, at Qroua Bridge. !
