SYDNEY, May 14. McKay, the cricketer, scored 2064 runs during the season, which constitutes a record.
Noble, the cricketer, in dealing with the cricket dispute, voices the opinion of players. He says the Board of Control recently tendered an invitation to the Marylcbone Club to send a team to Australia, which the Marylebone Club cauld not see its way to accept on account of it being a body unrepresentative of the cricket interests of the State. Players feel justified in accepting an invitation from the Melbourne Cricket Club to compete against the team introduced by that body. Their action was taken after due consideration, and with a belief that the Melbourne Club should have the support of ail in each State interested in the welfare of international cricket. The players believe it will be acknowledged by the public that it is highly desirable in the interests of Australian cricket that a representative English cricket team should be induced to visit Australia | during the season. j
